David Archuleta Berkeley Concert reviews
Quite Disappointing!
I have been a fan of David Archuleta and VNV Nation for a long time, often spending my youth at the Batcave in NYC when it was open for business. When both bands were scheduled for one show, I quickly purchased tickets, eager to see them perform.
On the morning of the show, I considered asking for a refund upon learning that VNV Nation had pulled out of the tour. Despite this, I ultimately decided to attend the show, thinking the chances of a refund were slim.
Arriving at the venue, I was surprised to find a large crowd awaiting the performance by the alien-clad Pup. The lighting and atmosphere created an exciting setting, but the disappointment set in as David Archuleta closed the show with only one classic song, Smothered Hope.
Paying nearly $50 for a ticket to hear just one classic track was disheartening. Many attendees had already left before the show ended, expressing their disappointment. It seemed that the band did not make an extra effort to entertain, beyond their stage outfits.
While I understand the importance of showcasing new songs, there should have been more variety in the performance. It leaves me questioning why VNV Nation backed out of the tour.
